This is a place for natural outings and fantastic views. Visitors find plenty of local attractions to explore, starting with the Cypress Wetlands, a gorgeous slice of coastal environment that features snowy egrets, wood ducks, great blue herons, and a variety of other migrating shorebirds via a number of winding trails.

The Sands Beach, with its long wooden pier and small sandy beach, is a popular spot for amateur archeologists to dig for shark's teeth and other seaside treasures. A tower is also located on site, which is open for climbing visitors and presents exceptional views of the Port Royal landscape.

The Lowcountry Estuarium rounds out an outdoor excursion with a spacious room filled with exhibits and aquariums and regular tours of the coastal region.

See you out there!

I cannot say enough good things about Safe Harbors Port Royal.  As we were coming north on the waterway we received word of a family emergency at home. We called looking for a berth for a few days. Michele said they would make room and to come in. Once we were secured, we asked about rental cars, etc. being late on a Sunday afternoon all were closed. Michele gave us the number of a neighbor who took us to Savannah. We ended up staying home for quite awhile, yet she told us not to worry as she and the staff watched the boat checking to be sure all was well and even cleared out the vegetable bin for us. When we returned all was well. Michele and the staff went above and beyond for us. They are good people abd true assets to the marina. We will make it a point to always stop when in the area. You should too.

Michele is the best dockmaster ever!   We stop each time we pass by for the excellent dockage and service.
