As gas supplies for generators became scarce the main source in Beaufort was down to the Boat House Marina on Front Street Village. A short wait was at 4+ hours until Tuesday night when power was finally restored to much of that community.

Death of an A-Cat - Beaufort's Annual Cats to the Cape Race, organized by Gunnar Stumpe, will not be seeing this A-Cat for quite a while after it took flight, trailer and all, during the height of Hurricane Florence.

The owners of the Full Moon Oyster Bar and Seafood Kitchen were among those who followed the mandatory evacuation order on the very weekend their new location was supposed to have been its Grand Opening in Atlantic Beach, N.C. After the storm, when many neighbors had First Responders hadn't had a hot meal in close to a week, they came in with a truckload of food, grills and bottled water to give back to their community even as their new restaurant was not yet accessible due to flooding.
