Most people know Hilton Head Island for its red and white striped lighthouse and fine golf courses, but it is also a great family getaway with long beaches, and walking and bicycling trails through its well-preserved natural areas. There are several large grocery stores for provisioning and shopping areas at Coligny Plaza at Forest Beach, Shelter Cove Harbour at Palmetto Dunes, The Village at Wexford and along William Hilton Parkway (Hwy. 278).
