Approach & Docking

10 Boater Reviews

Jackson Creek has a north and south branch. Both areas provide excellent, deep water and protected anchorages. Jackson Creek is located just north of the Piankatank River entrance and to the south of the Rappahannock River entrance/Stingray Point Light.

From the red #6 Piankatank marker (37 31.958 N, 76 19.051W) head due north to G1 & R2 which mark the entrance of Jackson Creek (37 32.699 N, 76 19.334 W).

Our channel is narrow but well marked, and provides a depth of 10 feet. Follow the channel markers carefully and sequentially 1 to 10. Stay in the middle of the channel, particularly as you proceed through G3, R4, and G5 at the bend. There is shoaling around many of the markers, if you stay in the middle of the channel you WILL have plenty of depth.

After rounding the last red marker R10, the marina will be ahead off your starboard bow. We monitor VHF channel 16, and our working channel is 69. We have four docks, A through D; the first dock you come to after rounding the R10 marker is A, followed by B, then C, and finally D which is the large floating dock. At the end of D dock is the fuel and pump out.

Noteworthy:

Deltaville Marina is a full-service marina situated minutes from the Chesapeake Bay. Located on Virginia's beautiful Jackson Creek, our serene resort-like setting offers boaters all the modern-day amenities, including a new large pool, newly renovated bathhouse, herb and vegetable gardens for customers, grills, and more. We even have a new floating dock! We hold various events for customers throughout the summer as well, whether dinner, sand dance, pool party, karaoke, full-moon paddles, and more.  We are open year-round and provide slip holders and transient visitors a quiet family-oriented environment.

Jackson Creek, positioned between the Rappahannock and Piankatank Rivers, offers two branches both with deep water and quiet, protected anchorages. We are approximately one mile to the quaint and historic town of Deltaville as well as many other historic attractions, music, farmers markets, and other activities. You don't want to miss this stop!

Deltaville Marina has up to 10' mean low water and offers uncovered slips, fuel dock, free pump out facility, 100a shore power, and transient dockage for the traveling cruiser.  The creek was dredged November of 2017 to reach a 10' MLW. Jackson Creek is also a safe harbor from poor weather. Whether visiting for a night, week, or longer, our superb location provides protection from wind and seaway from most directions.
