Hopewell VA moves forward with marina project

Date Reported: Sep 13, 2012

The Hopewell City Council gave a green light to the $1.5 million makeover of the City Marina by approving the contract with a developer, according to a Progress-Index article. Hopewell is located on the James River south of Richmond, VA.

Construction can now begin in mid-October, after the 30-day waiting period required by law. The marina will get a new roof and boardwalk, the parking lot will be repaved and another boating ramp will be added. There will be new boat storage, and the old bathrooms and showers will be replaced. Construction is expected to take about 18 months. Read full article...
