I arrived there at the end of November on a recommendation of another boater, only to find that the power to the docks had been turned off, the showers and laundry facilities were not operational and the Dockside Grille was not open. Also marina staff were only on site from 10 to 2 two days a week. Not the best for security purposes. Looks like they are very nice facilities, if they were all functioning. i was told that things might be rectified in a couple of weeks, so I advise that you call ahead and see what the status is. I moved to Grande Dunes - great staff, great facilities and not much difference in price.

A friend had to haul a 45' power boat out to have a small leak in the lazarette repaired. The boat was out, and back in the water, in approximately four hours. The yard bill, not including the fiberglas repair which was done by another friend, was $450. As they say, Buyer Beware Comment submitted by Ron Baseford on 16 December, 2009 - 08:35 We spent 3 days at the Barefoot Yacht Resort Marina on route to Beaufort SC in July 2008. We found it a great place to stay, everything was open and the staff were in attendance all day and very friendly On route back to Oriental NC we pulled in for gas. When pulling away we lost our port fuel pump. They recomended a mechanic and did not charge us for the night we had to stay untill the repairs were completed. Perhaps it was the time of year but there's no doubt Grand Dunes is a great marina.
