2007 Waterway Wonders Photo Contest And the winner is...

First Place Winner: Kay Olinger of Ft. Myers Beach is the winner with this dramatic photo of a waterspout over Hawk Channel in the Florida Keys. She has won a weekend stay at Bald Head Island, complete with two nights of dockage and accomodations and dinner for two, all complements of Bald Head Island Limited in North Carolina. www.baldheadisland.com While waterspouts are not infrequent in subtropical settings such as Florida and the Bahamas, it is rare for photographer to capture a spout and a vessel that is both under way and apparently heading toward the danger. This photo tells a story that makes the viewer want to know the ending. HONORABLE MENTION
