PUBLISHER
Boating is in our blood Jack Dozier has spent most of his life on and around boats, beginning in the late 1940s when he cruised the mid-Atlantic coast with his parents. His wife, Craig, is equally boat-smitten; they spent their honeymoon in 1969 cruising the Chesapeake Bay and haven't stopped since, logging more than 100,000 miles on yearly cruises from New England to Florida and the Bahamas. In 1973, Jack founded Dozier Marine in Deltaville, VA, which grew to include three marinas and service yards, a yacht sales and charter group, ship's store, a sail loft, a marine electronics division and, most recently Waterway Guide. A strong advocate for cruisers, Jack is involved with several government and grass-roots organizations devoted to preserving the waterway. Craig started working for Waterway Guide as a sales rep in 1975, and she's still at it; both contributed text, photography and navigational updates to the Guide until they bought it in 2002. Since then, with their experienced staff of cruising editors and production professionals, they've expanded Waterway Guide from three to four yearly volumes and doubled the page numbers to 2,000-plus. In July 2006 they introduced Waterway Guide Magazine, which covers the ICW from Maine to the Gulf of Mexico and all points in between, reporting on the wonderful places cruisers can enjoy when they dock their vessels and come ashore.
